Sherlock Holmes concept art

This is the keyshot and final result of my Sherlock's concept art research, which was hard to create and took a lot of time because I had never made a keyshot before. This was inspired by the movie corpse bride.

I really enjoyed making this, because it took me out of my comfort zone.

These were the illustrations made for Sherlock, which took a lot of time and effort.

For the first illustration I wanted to incorporate the Hound of the Baskervilles as a ghost skeleton wolf, and as for the second illustration I tried to get a glimpse of Sherlock's apartment, which could represent the character.

The props were my favorite part of the process, and Sherlock's elongated figure was really fun to play with.

The hardest part of the character design process was the turn, because of the funny shape his pants make, which were difficult to represent from all sides.

i colored Sherlock in different color palettes from movies that inspired me, for example the black and white one was inspired by Sin City, and the green and purple one was inspired by The Boxtrolls.

Finally, here is my original research for the character design. I got a lot of inspiration by the Boxtrolls character designs, then I got inspired by Robbie from Gravity falls which helped to create Sherlock's personality and overall shape.
