Hi everyone! My name is Carmen, and this week I just finished my first year in 3D Animation, Videogames, and Interactive Environments at Florida Universitaria. It's the first time I'm showing anything online, but I'm very excited to start sharing the pieces I've made so far and to grow as an artist.

Dango Truck

This was my first complete diorama, made for a school activity at Florida Universitaria. At that time, I had been modeling for four months, so I tried to create a piece that was a bit more complex to push my abilities and learn more.

The entire piece is hand-painted and modeled based on Péah's concept of a food truck. The letters on the signs are different because a friend told me the correct way to write "dango" in Japanese. A similar thing happened with the car license plate; I researched and tried to make it look like a real Japanese truck.

But... what is dango? It is a dumpling similar to mochi. It is usually sweet, but in Japan, there are different flavors—some can even be salty!

Throne room

This was my last project: a complete environment using some PBR textures. I started to organize a larger piece by defining the sizes of each asset and working on the full composition.

It was a challenge to learn some of the techniques used in creating environments. I used a trim for the first time for the floor, the stairs, and the walls. Additionally, I made a marble tile for the columns, arches, and the area where the throne is located.

Some of the textures are unique, such as the doors, windows, and curtains. The ornaments on the doors and some of the purple curtains were made using the ornament path tool brush by Javad Rajabzade and edited to look like typical gold decorations.

One thing that I really enjoyed was making the curtains, because I had to learn how cloth works in Blender. It was cool to run some simulations and try to find the best one. I'm very proud of them!

To sum up, I did the lighting (the best I could) in Unity, as well as the cameras and renders. In the environment, there are some decals on the floor. They are not very visible, but I thought that the environment worked better without too much noise.

PBR Barrel

For this asset, I made a basic barrel to work on PBR textures and focus on understanding how some textures work and learning how to apply them to specific objects. In the previous environment, I used some PBR textures, but this one was more particular and unique.

I wanted to achieve a moldy effect on the wood, as if it had been used to take water out of a pirate boat. The metal has some scratches and marks that show this use as well.

I made the renders in Substance Stager and took the base texture of the rope from Substance Sampler. After that, I added some grunge and dust to simulate wear and use.

WIPS

I have some 3D models that I made but haven't finished yet. First, there is a sword that I created during my first year of the higher education cycle at Florida Universitaria. It was my first baked and sculpted asset. I sculpted it in Blender and did the baking in Substance Painter. The concept is from Igor Asanov.

Next, there is a stylized camera that was the first 3D asset I made based on a Pinterest concept. Initially, it was very difficult to figure out each shape and proportion, but in the end, I really enjoyed it and wanted to create more 3D assets and explore this amazing art world further.

Finally, you can see a stylized cartoon character based on a concept by Lyudmila Volkova. I started painting it by hand.
