Round of applause for our sponsors

A motion reel of my best work from the past couple of years. The music choice is "Last Words" by Kenny Beats.

Organic Vases

This project focused on gaining an understanding of organic modeling and UV mapping. This animation specially focused on the idea of morphing pottery and vases. Highlighting various vase shapes and fruits. As well as practicing 3D interior lighting.

The animation mainly relies on a method of using tracers to have manual animatable points on a spline, and lath object to wrap around 360 degrees, creating the vase. All created in Cinema4D except for the light from the lamp was faked using After Effects since I could not achieve that specific light ray in while lighting in Cinema.

Interlinked

This project focused on learning more complex After Effects expressions and rigging for various use cases. While learning these tools, I also wanted to experiment with fake 3D in a more 2D style. The combination of which resulted in this animation. Focusing on the interactions of shapes within shapes.

The animation, as well as the rigs were created entirely in After Effects. Relying on a combination of Points to Null scripts and 3D layers in Z-space. Allowing me to spin a fake cube in 3D space, as well as stretch or extrude it using linear expressions to add extra controls.

Somewhere On Cape Cod

Experimenting and creating interactive animation using the program Rive. The software is fairly new, but has many advantages in creating vector animation and interactivity. This piece is inspired by scenery on Cape Cod and themed around the beginnings of a summer vacation. This was my first time using and learning Rive.

iDKHOW Branded Poster

This project focused on creating a brand design centered around a chosen music artist and a specific song. Creating a consistent visual language in multiple formats. For what could eventually be a concert from the band "iDKHOW"

Focusing on using a retro style with VHS/CRT TV effects that pushed towards an 80s theme that the band has. Also referencing one of their songs that focus on consumerism and TV ads.

Retro Exploded View

Focusing on practicing hard surface modeling and UV mapping. This animation specifically focused on the idea of product "exploded views" revealing in inner workings of a device. In this case, showing a more retro-futuristic Gameboy looking device.

ESPN on ABC Concept

A short project focusing on creating a five second logo animation that would give the ESPN on ABC brand a "facelift". Using a combination of vector shapes, glows, and noise texturing to push for a more intense, but also elegant feeling with radial moving structures.
