HOTEL MILLER

This project was a group assignment where we had to create visualizations for a client who had purchased a property and wanted investors to build a hotel. We were assigned different locations around the world and had to research local architecture, culture, and tourism in each area.

My group was assigned to Edinburgh, Scotland, and I was responsible for designing the restaurant. My colleagues worked on the suite, lobby/reception, and spa area. It was a challenging yet valuable learning experience to collaborate in a group this way. Not only did we have to adjust to the location, but our images also had to match each other in style. The planning ahead, compromising, and sharing files were all new to us, and our shared Miro board really helped facilitate the process.

Project length: 2 weeks

Software used: 3ds MAX, Corona render, Photoshop, Adobe Firefly, AI

Modeled elements: Structure, tables, paintings, sofa, roof, doors, accent wall, floor

MOODBOARD

As Edinburgh is by the sea, it was a natural source of inspiration. This marked the beginning of finding something historical that would tie the project together. We found old paintings with a sea theme. The shape of the ship's hull resembled the wall and floor lamps I had seen, and the sail reminded me of the ceiling lamps I was looking for. The marble became the centerpiece of the project, representing the depths of the sea of tongues.

BETSY MILLER

Betsy Miller, the protagonist and inspiration. Created with Photoshop AI. The first female sea captain in Scotland, Betsy Miller, was a Scottish merchant and the daughter of the successful shipowner William Miller. While Betsy Miller is a historical figure, we expanded upon her story a bit more to create a history and a sense of culture of female heroism and humility. She was a woman with experience and one whom the family was proud of, thus showing that we listened to our client and developed trust throughout the project to create our storytelling.

ANIMATION OF PROPERTY MAKEOVER

The purpose of this project is to test basic animation techniques: camera movements, moving objects, lighting, and camera effects, as well as post-production in the form of adjustments, sound, and text. The focus was on animation techniques, not modeling, so we were encouraged to use a previous project.

I chose to use my previous renovation project to create a promotional animation for e-styling.

Project length: 2 weeks

Software used: 3ds Max, Corona render, Adobe After Effects

THE VILLA

The task was to construct a villa in 3D studio max from a CAD drawing based on AlingsÃ¥s Huspaket  and create an environment in forestpack. I chose the house model 8051 with a modern and open floor plan to suit the location I had in mind. With larger social areas and large windows facing the sea, I aimed to create an exterior environment with stone and concrete as the base. The house should feel like a part of the location and gaze out over the open horizon. The building was to be designed based on a Scandinavian environment. My inspiration was the West Coast. I utilized railclone and floorgenerator to create the facade.

We had a meeting with a client who chose the camera angle and lighting. During the project, we also met with an architect from Whitearkitekter to consult about the building. This is my first exterior image. Looking forward to developing and creating more.

Project length: 3 weeks

Software used: 3ds Max, V-ray render, Forest pack, Rail clone, floorgenerator, Photoshop, AI, Quixel Megascan, AutoCad

Modeling elements: The whole house, base of landscape and pool deck.

MATTE PAINTING

This is a project done in Photoshop and AI. The goal of this project was to visualize an idea using only the base created from pictures and AI. We began by generating different drafts of buildings for the composition using AI-Midjourney. We used the AI-generated building as a base and completed the project by finding and matching different photos. I then created a breakdown of the process.

This was a fun project which showcased a new way to get creative with the help of AI. I really enjoy using Photoshop. I learned a lot and am excited to continue exploring with this method.

Project length: 1 week

Software used: Photoshop and Midjourney

MODELING

The assignment was to model and texturize an existing chair based on photos and/or drawings and create a advertisement and studio image.

The chair of my choice for the project is The France chair, in walnut wood and canvas. Which is a vibrant woollen upholstery textile , designed by Finn Juhl 1956. The France chair comes in many different kinds of wood, color on leather and textiles.

In this project, I also worked on placing text to showcase my graphic interest and experience.

Project length: 2 weeks

Software used: 3ds MAX, Corona render, Advanced Wood, Photoshop

 Modeled elements: Chair, studio environment

URBAN ARCHITECTURE

This project was done together with Millerhare visualisation studio, we were tasked for developing areas around Kings Cross in London, UK. We got to take part in all the models of the area. We researched which buildings were included and what materials, landscape, and concepts were used for the different buildings. The class was divided into 6 different groups, Residential, ommercial and the open area of Granary Square. My group was assigned Granary Square.

The reason behind the project was to show the area's potential and life.

This project gave me the opportunity to practice my skills in 3ds Max and Photoshop. My idea was to create an image that showed the area's potential and warmth where people gathered..

Project length: 3 weeks

Software used: 3ds Max, Corona render, Forest pack, Photoshop, AI

Modeling elements: The ground and landscape on the square.
