"Visions Laid Bare" is a 2D graduation film about an artist struggling to make a painting due to anxiety and fear towards public reception.
This film was produced as a final project for the University of Hertfordshire. This film embodies what I like in animation and all things art and how I see myself as an artist. It is a reflection of the artist's psyche and anxieties against the expectations of the public upon them. In the film I had the desire to experiment with different styles, both visually and narrative wise, to portray something unique. See below for some breakdowns and a little of the process behind the making of "Visions Laid Bare". I hope you enjoy!

Sketch to final
Sketches from the pre-production phase, scroll the bar for the final results.
Backgrounds
All backgrounds were done in layered photoshop files and imported directly into After Effects to enable camera movements and the preservation of adjustment layers and levels.
Character Rigging
The rigs were all done in Moho for speed and preservation of the art direction of the film. Smart bones and smart actions were used in almost every scene of the film.
Character Design and Style Experiments
The character model used as a reference for the rigs, which were unique for each scene. Below are explorations for the style of the film.
Animatic
The animatic served as base for the film, where I would try to find solutions for the scenes proposed on the script. Some scenes were removed from the final film and some were added.
Thanks for looking through my project! If you enjoyed please leave a high five and feel free to comment and every feedback is welcome!
