I would love to be a character artist in the games industry, working with a great team. I also have a dream of one day running my own studio.
Leila was a concept I found online, and was immediately compelled to take it on for this portfolio piece. This project took me 8 weeks, and was completed for a course ran by Jhill. The time pressure was great, and really simulated the reality of completing a game ready asset in UE5
One of the biggest things for me to display in this project, was being diligent in my file structure, mesh management and material creation. after a few projects, I have realized that these skills are paramount in becoming an efficient artist in the games industry. Things can get out of hand pretty quickly when iterating!
The character itself is around 140k tris, and the hair is around 30k. 6x 4K texture sets in total.
GS curve tools for Maya is one of the best plugins for hair card creation. Was really impressed by the effort put into it.

Tracers Project
I decided to create this piece based on the importance of choosing a concept for a portfolio piece. Like many people, I fell into fan art early on and realized to really maximize your project reach doing something unique!
I really enjoyed this project and learnt alot during the process.
