Hideout of the Sands - Realtime Environment

Happy to finally call this piece finished! This is a revisited version of a school assignment I started back in September. The building was based on colonial architecture and the scene was built using a modular kit I crafted using Blender, RizomUV, and Substance Painter, with Megascans assets for foliage and rocks.

Showcased in the last image are all the assets of the modular kit I created for this project.

I used Unreal Engine's cloth simulation system to achieve realistic movement in the tarps.

In order to blend the sand material with assets, I used runtime virtual texture streaming setups in the master materials within Unreal Engine 5.

To generate the desert environment in the background, I utilized UE's Landmass plugin with some tweaks to the brush shader.
