Welcome to DichosTown! The place where sayings come to life in 3D animated form! This is the home of the characters that star in the sayings we've heard from children to adults, such as “Camarón que se duerme, se lo lleva la corriente” (Shrimp that goes to sleep, gets swept away by the current), and many more!

Welcome to DichosTown

“DichosTown” is a personal project about animation and 3D modeling that I have just started. What I want to achieve with this project is to develop and improve my skills regarding the world of 3D modeling and animation, so I can obtain and reach the necessary level to work in the video game or movie industry in a professional way, so I continue to explore new tools and techniques to keep polishing my qualities.

What is DichosTown about? Well, in the city where I grew up, I have always heard sayings for every situation, said by my parents, my uncles and my grandparents, so I decided to create 3D animations with which I can represent those sayings that many people know and have heard, in a literal and comical way, and at the same time be suitable for all audiences.

Phases

The scenery and characters are made in low poly. Some challenges I had when animating, were the currents (waves) of the sea, as I wanted to make them look as natural and organic as possible, however in some moments it looked a little stiff or rigid, however, with dedication, time, detail and patience, I managed to make them look more natural.

Sequence

Another challenge was the movement of the shrimp that is carried away by the current (the wave), because at the beginning of the animation, its movements were a little robotic, so I decided to check almost frame by frame the movement of the arms and fingers, so I could correct it and make it look more natural (and a little exaggerated). At the same time, I decided to animate the eyes as well, to make it look a little more realistic, in the sense that he is looking for where to hold on to or if someone can help him.

Animation

Finally, I would like to thank you for your time and attention. In case I am not selected, I would like to receive feedback on how I can improve, to work on those areas that need improvement so that I can continue to strengthen my skills to reach and be closer and closer to the best version of myself and the level I desire.
