Hello, here is my introduction of level art I did at New3dge !

Hello, my name is Hugo, and I am in the Player category. I hope you will like this work!
For this exercise, I had to recreate a broken bridge in a medieval style by working with module.

To focus on the bridge, modeling outside of the bridge and using Zbrush were not allowed.
We were given a scene to set our bridge in a medieval environment, from the Fantasy Bundle Environment Kit 3 in 1 by Artcore studios  https://www.artcore-studios.com/

We had two weeks to learn Unreal and Level Art. Then, two weeks off to create our bridge.

Here is the base on which we will create our bridge

After researching references, I made a 2D sketch to capture the intention look of my bridge. Then, I started with the first modular blocking to ensure everything fit correctly in my scene and that there were no scale issues.

I could then start my modular breakdown, proceed with the modeling, and assign my IDs

For the texturing, I used Megascan textures, which I modified to my liking in Photoshop. To avoid repetition, I used vertex paint and created variations on my ground.

I export my bridge to an another level, to have a neutral light for a better texture readability

To improve and push the weathering of the bridge, there's nothing better than decals! This part of my process was very helpful.

I would like to thank Mickaël Floury for his help and for the two weeks of learning Unreal, which were truly enriching.
Thanks for reading, and I hope you will like it!
