On board in this World

I'm Federica, currently learning and progressing in the world of Architectural Visualization.

I'm an Interior Designer and Art Director graduated in Barcelona. There I discovered the 3D world, but until 9 months ago I didn't enter fully into this. It has been a very hard but very rewarding process.

These are some of the projects I've been working on during my first year.

BIG TREES SMALL PLANTS HOUSE - My first project

As my first project I chose this house in Sri Lanka, designed by Read Studio Architects. What caught my attention was the brutalist style of the house, contrasted with the surrounding vegetation. The attractiveness of the colors and the contrast of shapes, lines and curves inside and outside it.

Throughout the process, I not only gained a foundation in 3D modeling but also had the opportunity to explore the world of Forest Pack.

I wanted to draw the interior as well, to represent and show how cold a material like concrete can look, but at the same time so warm depending on where it is located.

TAS'S CHURCH - The Challenge

As my first interior project, I chose a very big challenge in terms of modeling and materiality. It consists of a complete renovation of a church, designed by Garmendia Cordero Arquitectos. I wanted to make the most of the tools to achieve the closest result to reality.

I was struck by the contrast between what is a church and a living space, which in the end can be combined.

ELE ARMCHAIR

This was a modeling exercise and a photo studio of the piece. My intention was to show the chair in a diferent way, something that not necessarily express the function of it.

SEVEN - Exploring Retail Design

The design of the space is implemented by Sill and Sound Architects. The main approach consists of extracting the potential of the given space by first defining its core characteristics, and then creating a design which highlights a subtle dialogue between those existing elements and their intervention.

I choose this project because I was looking for some space with light and peaceful materials, using colors and soft lights to improve my skills on illumination and materials.

EXPLORING TO CREATE

In this project we moved further into the realm of creating competitive architectural images set in more complex environments. The main challenge was to manage a larger project in a limited time frame, with a specific brief.

Eager to go deeper into post-production and the world of matte painting.

COLORS AND COMPOSITION

As an exercise to train the eye and learn how to compose images, we took a series of photographs with characteristic elements in them. Here are some of my photographs.

Also testing and trying Forest Pack and Environment in 3D Max.

In progress....

In this project still in progress, we had the opportunity to work with Victor Bonafonte, CEO of Beauty and The Bit. It was an incredible experience to receive and progress with feedback directly from a professional in the industry.

The biggest challenge for me was to contextualize and materialize an entire urban environment with 3d and matte painting.

Trying constantly to evolve and improve in this world.  I hope that my work and essence is reflected in them, for now.

Thanks! :)
