                            UE5 Stylized Environment

Here is a stylized environment of a small bookstore café in a London alleyway. 
I learned a lot during this project and was able to test new technics. Every assets and textures were made by me. 
I hope you like this project as much as I like it.

                                          Blockout / Final

Here's my work at it's beginning to the final render to see how the project evolved

I work by layers on my project, a long time with blockout because I wanted to set on the composition and the atmosphere the feelings i want to convey.

                                              Breakdown

                                                                            Texture Tile

As my project uses a lot of identical textures, I made textures that match themselves.

First I sculpted bricks (pave, tile) and assembled it on Maya. Then I baked them and worked on the texture step by step starting with my base colour and my roughness. I really wanted the roughness of the bricks react on sunlight.

                                                                           Used decal

To make the environment more lively I used decals that I made on Procreate. I put them under windows, roofs and floors.

                                                                         Vertex paint

As all my buildings have a brick texture, I used several brick textures with slight variations in colour and also used vertex paint to bring back texture variation.

                                                                           Detailed light

For the lights, I wanted a pleasant atmosphere at the end of the day.

I did a lot of work on my lights so that the reflections of the café lights would look great.

                   - Autumn forest -

I wanted to create a forest environment that make you feel wistful. I hope you enjoy this environment.

                                             Breakdown

My aim was to use my knowledge of engine technologies and shaders to create a stylised environment.

                                                                       Wind shader

To create the wind, I used a parameter material to be able to modify the wind values and impact the foliage, even if they didn't have the same Materials master.

                                                                       Stone shader

To make the Level Art easier to create, I created a Materials parameter to always have moss on the top of the stones regardless of there orientation

                                                                           Landscape

Finally, for the landscape material, I used several layers to paint the colour of the grass or the areas of earth thanks to the Runtime Virtual Texturing materials technology.

                                                                         Ray of God

I used a mesh where there is a material to be able to modify the intensity, the scale and the speed of this last one

Here's a small stylised fountain .The challenge of this project was the realization of the water and the waterfall. Thanks to this, I have more knowledge in the material system of Unreal.
