My first archviz year
Hi! I’m Camilla Kaied, and I’m currently in my first year of studying architectural visualization at YRGO in Gothenburg. Here are some of the projects I have done so far!
ABOUT
I am pleased to share an overview of the projects I have completed so far in the architectural visualization program at YRGO, Gothenburg. Prior to joining this program, I had no experience in architectural visualization. I am proud of the progress I’ve made so far and excited to showcase my work. I look forward to continuing learning and growing in this field.

URBAN ARCHITECTURE
This project was a collaborative effort with Millerhare Visualization Studio located in London. This was a real previous project of the area Kings Cross in London. Millerhare provided us with the base and models and we got to work with the concept, lighting, materials and camera angles. The brief was to create a descriptive view that would provide a comprehensive perspective of the building and its surroundings.
I was assigned the resedential area and I chose to focus on the iconic gasholders. I aimed to capture their essence by creating a blue hour mood, enhancing both interior and exterior lighting to elevate the public space. Throughout the process, I used parallaxes for the first time and experimented with lightmix. Finally, I added finishing touches using Photoshop.
Project length: 3 weeks/ Software used: 3Ds Max, Corona, Photoshop

THE VILLA
In this project, our task was to create an appealing and precise image using CAD drawings provided by Alingsås Huspaket. The villa, which we modeled ourselves, had to be placed somewhere in Scandinavia. We had the freedom to choose lighting, camera angles, and materials, but they needed to align with our moodboards the we created in the beginning of the process. This was also the first time using V-ray for rendering. Furthermore, we held several meetings with an architect to showcase how collaboration between visualizers and architects operates in real-world scenarios.
Project length: 4 weeks/ Software used: 3Ds Max, V-ray, Rail CLone, Forest Pack, Photoshop

POSTPRODUCTION PROCESS
XING BAY HOTEL
This collaborative project involved multiple groups, each tasked with designing a new hotel in another country. Our specific assignment was to create a concept that integrated with the local history and culture. Our designated area was Hong Kong, China. Within my group, we divided responsibilities for various aspects of the hotel. Regular meetings and check-ins ensured that our individual contributions would harmonize effectively in the final result.
Prior to starting the project, we made research on Hong Kong’s culture. Drawing inspiration from this, we envisioned a modern hotel that would reflect the chinese culture through its choice of materials, color palette, and interior design. I chose to visualize the lobby, paying particular attention to enhancing the materials with strategic lighting to complement the dark color scheme.

BAMBI ARMCHAIR
The Chair project involved creating a 3D model of an existing chair entirely from scratch, using reference images. The goal was to achieve realism by applying appropriate materials and textures. Once the chair model was complete, we captured both a studio photograph and a promotional advertisement image. I chose a chair made by Rolf Rastad and Adolf Relling in 1954, called Bambi Armchair.

PROPERTY MAKEOVER
The brief was to find a house in great need of renovation and explore its potential. Two rooms were to be renovated, in my case the dining area and kitchen. I based my choices on the target audience, ‘the newly formed family,’ and selected decor, props, and materials accordingly. The house is located in Vara, Sweden and was built in 1909.

MATTE PAINTING
This project was the first one I created using only Photoshop. The project was completed by incorporating different photos, along with a breakdown of the process. In the process I learned to judge the quality of different photos and choose the correct photos for their intented purpose. Light and colour, focal length and subject matter all play a major role in the result. My personal choice was a darker ambiance featuring distant mountains against an open field with water.
Project length: 1 week/ Software used: Photoshop

ABSTRACTION
The purpose of our first visualization project was to select a work of art to interpret into an interior space. The room did not need to be functional; what mattered was aligning with the vision portrayed in the moodboard using the same colors, materials, and lighting. I chose Place Furstenberger by Tullio Crali (1958).
