Scrap Book

"Scrap Book" in short is about scrapbooking in outer space. Inspired by a long family tradition started by my grandmother, who creates scrapbooks for each of her grandchildren, this collection is grounded in the idea of physical memory keeping. I consider the impulse to collect and cherish memories as a universal human desire, no matter where mankind may go, including space! Through the narrative of Zoey, a character I created who lives in space and creates wearable scrapbooks, I challenge viewers to reimagine the possibilities of memory collections. Using digital mediums such as Photoshop and CLO 3D I created digital prints and wearable scrapbook charms to build out Zoey's world.

The use of digital prints in Scrap Book adds depth to the narrative by documenting the process of documentation. The prints were developed from my sketchbook pages, early textile swatches, and some keepsakes I would put in my actual scrapbooks. 

Once the collections' graphics and silhouettes were finalized, I used CLO 3D to create the patterns for six looks. Please see the process of developing the looks below:

Zoey could not be alone in this interstellar environment so each look and its products were all named after space-themed things.
