Gabriela Tena - Alibaba, Alchemist Ghost and Sunrise

This is my Final project for the Advance Term at Think Tank Training Centre. The project was done over the course of 15 weeks. The work was made according to the concept by Thibaud Pourplanche.

The first step was collecting references from real life.

Then create the blockout, making sure the proportions are correct.

A first pass of lighting/color really helps to get a good idea of how well you're achieving the look you want.

I didn't know how I was going to create the foliage. I found that MASH networks work really well for that.

I think they turned out great for the type of look that I had in mind.

The palms and palm trees I did model by hand as they needed a specific look.

One the Render was done it was on to postproduction in Nuke X.

Thanks to the cryptomatte layer I was able to add some glow to the lights and adjust the atmospherics.

I changed the background to an HDRI that worked better with the concept and tinted it to the colors of the original concept.

I created a particle system with some spheres for the fireflies. And imported the cameras from Maya into Nuke X to match the camera movements to the particle system.

This is the final result.

Alchemist Ghost

This is my Final project for the Intermediate Term at Think Tank Training Centre.

I wanted to experiment more with stylized textures, the goal was to achieve a "painted effect". The project was done over the course of 4 weeks. 

The work was made according to the concept made by Ngan Pham.

Again, the first step was collecting references from real life.

I wanted to have a first pass of lighting/texturing to get a good idea of how well I was achieving the look of the concept.

There were a lot of details and little things to create.

The whole process took 4 weeks.

Sunrise

This is my Final project for the Foundation Term at Think Tank Online. The project was done over the course of 4 weeks.

The work was made according to the concept made by Krzysztof Roslan.

Here I also had a first pass of lighting/color to get a good idea of how well I was accomplishing the look of the concept.

The concept played a lot with the perspective and geometric figures.

One of the most difficult things for this project was having fog with enough light to be able to see the background clearly.
