Hello everyone, My name is Eugenia, and I am currently a student at the Think Tank Training Center. Before Think Tank, I worked in tech marketing, but I decided to change my career to 3D art because I am more passionate about it.

Stray fanart | Clementine's apartment

This is the final project for my intermediate term at Think Tank Training Center. I drew inspiration from a video game called Stray. I admire the game's style and wanted to replicate it. This project is my first real-time environment, and I learned a lot about Unreal Engine during its completion.

Lighting

In this scene, the atmosphere is heavily influenced by the lighting. While most of the scene is bathed in cold blue light, the right corner is illuminated by a warm light, creating an interesting contrast. I used a main directional light tinted with blue to simulate the neon light coming through the window. To create the warm light, I used a soft point light. Additionally, I added extra lights to bring the scene closer to the concept. I also used emissive material for the plane behind the window.

I used a flat dynamic fog with a noise texture for the fog effect.

Vertex paint

I utilized a new material layer system in Unreal Engine and used HeightLerp and Vertex Color to blend the materials. Furthermore, I made adjustments to the blending of the normal maps. This allowed me to control the appearance of the plaster on top of the bricks, whether it appears flat or if the brick pattern is visible beneath the plaster.

Hero Prop

During my intermediate term, I also worked on creating the hero prop. I made a Renaissance lute. It was challenging because of its round shapes and strings.
