Hi! I am Yuki Li

I am a motion designer from China, currently living and studying at Ringling College of Art + Design in Sarasota, FL. With an interest in various forms of animations, I passionately explore different media and styles through experimentation. Here below is my demo reel :))

Here are some projects I made during my time at Ringling College of Art and Design.

01. Thesis Animation - Around

This is the thesis animation for my undergraduate school. The story is about childhood memories after the character leaves her hometown. The memories are like roots supporting the character; the hometown is always around her.

02. FutureProof Branding - The Adventure

This is a comprehensive branding for Ringling College of Art + Design’s Motion Design conference Future Proof 2024. I collaborated with my friend Olive Mei on this project.

The concept is that an artist is immersed in his creative world. Every flash of an idea is a star waiting to be illuminated. Believe in yourself and don’t stop imagining boldly, creating has meaning all by itself.

The animation includes three different styles: graphic, illustration, and collage. This style variation shows the artist moving through various environments in the imaginary world.

03. Mock Project - Universal Music Production

To create a fascinating visualization of one of the new musical releases from the Universal Production Music studio. The animation visually interprets the music while introducing the name of the release.

Style frames and mock-ups.

04. Mock Project - Sesame Street

This is a mock project for Sesame Street, where my task is to create an animated segment. In this project, I combine my knowledge of 2D and 3D animation as well as hand-drawing skills to create a whimsical, tactile, and fun animation.

I worked on this project with my friend, Yixuan Shi. We used wool felt, cardboard, and clay to build different environments in the forest. For example, felt is for flowers and trees; cardboard is for soil; clay is for smaller elements, like frog’s blush.

Thank you so much!! Hope you enjoy my projects. wwww
