Hello! This is a collection of my work from my sophomore year studying Computer Animation at Ringling College. While I mainly focus on environment art and animation, I am responsible for (and enjoyed) every part of the pipeline!
Sheriff Bones
I designed, modeled, textured, rigged and animated this cocky skeletal cowboy. I had a lot of fun experimenting with rigging and animating his bendy legs, and his neck made of individual vertebrae that I can squash and separate!
A to B
The first animation of Sheriff Bones is a pose test, where he moves from one pose to another. This exercise not only tested my rig, but focused on emotional, clear poses and reactions.
Wild, Wild Wrist
The second Sheriff Bones animation features him sauntering into the saloon, and quickly getting humbled. This assignment focused on moving into and out of a walk cycle, and I learned a lot about prop interaction and constraints.
Humer-ous Heist
My final project with Sheriff Bones was a scene that had to incorporate walking, sitting, standing, prop interaction, and lip-syncing. I had a lot of fun designing, modeling, and texturing the Sheriff's Jailhouse!
Beans the Rat
Beans is a grimy alley rat, trapped in an old can of beans. I designed, modeled, textured, rigged and animated him. It's tough to pose a character with no arms that's mainly a cylinder, so that process taught me a lot about conveying emotion in posing!
Animation Exercises
I first animated Beans doing some simple exercises to test my rig and learn how to use it. Below is a compilation of the rat walking, jumping, and turning.
Simple Poly Theater
My final assignment with Beans puts him in a scene, where I practiced my posing and clear movement to show intention, and a distinct change in emotion. This was also my first time rigging and animating a (very simple) prop, and experimenting with cartoon-ish multiples on his legs during his running in air.
