THE EXPERIMENT

sci-fi/ fantasy school project

In a dystopian future, the alchemist Viktor has found refuge in an abandoned church, where he practices his alchemical arts in the shadows of the night. While trying to find the elixir of life, he discovers that a mysterious doctor, known only as Doctor P., is conducting experiments on humans to prolong life. Determined to stop the doctor’s atrocities, Viktor begins exploring secret laboratories and underground tunnels.

THE ALCHEMIST

Viktor is a character embodying the archetype of the lone hero fighting against injustice in a dystopian world. As an alchemist, he possesses a unique blend of scientific knowledge and mystical expertise, making him a formidable force against the oppressive forces he faces. 

His refuge in the abandoned church symbolizes both his isolation from society and his spiritual quest for truth and redemption.

THE ICE TRIBE

In The Ice Tribe players are transported to an alternate reality where ancient Egypt has been plunged into an eternal winter, blanketed in ice and snow. Despite the hard conditions, the iconic landmarks of Egypt, such as pyramids and obelisks, still stand tall, now adorned with frost.

Tribe's people still pray the ancient gods of Egypt like Ra, Osiris, and Isis, seeking their favor and protection in the frozen land.

THE YETI HUNTER

The Yeti hunter is a mysterious and solitary character, beloved by the local population. Wrapped in thick furs, he braves the harsh temperatures while proudly wielding his imposing bow. My inspiration for the character draws from the Yupik people. They are indigenous to the Arctic regions of Alaska, Eastern Siberia, and Greenland.

THE SHAMAN

The shaman draws inspiration from the Krampus, wild figures known for their rugged appearance, hand-carved wooden masks, fur costumes and bells, symbolically driving away winter during  Saint Nicholas. With her third eye, the shaman possesses clairvoyance, a connection to the afterlife, perceiving beyond the human perception. She invokes the god Thoth, depicted with the head of an ibis, while her mask is inspired by the snowy owl. Her hat is inspired by Osiris.

The egyptian scepter (Was) end has a meaning of African shamanic origin and serves as a connection from the sky to the mother earth. It brings power and fortune.

THE SIGN OF FOUR

school cinema project

The Sign of the Four is the second novel by Arthur Conan Doyle with Sherlock Holmes. The detective and his companion, Dr. Watson, unravel a mystery involving hidden treasures and murders.

I create this project for my Set Design thesis in cinema. Starting from the hystorical research, I developed the main locations in the novel: Sherlock Holmes studio and The Crime Scene in the Pondicherry Lodge.

THE HYSTORICAL RESEARCH

I dedicated lot of studies to the urban planning of London in the late 19th century and its development during that period. In particular, I focused on the detailed analysis of the works of Charles Booth. Booth was an important scholar and social reformer, best known for his pioneering work on the investigation of poverty in London in the late 19th century.

SHERLOCK'S APARTMENT

From C. Doyle's novels, some details are known regarding the furniture and objects. Surely there is a large window, two armchairs next to the fireplace, and many items of a chemical and medical nature. I started with some hand-drawn sketches and measurements and then I choose two camera view to represent the room. I also did an isometric view, to understand the whole space.

Among the personal items of the investigator, we can find the magnifying glass, the pipe, the violin, chemical equipment, the notebook, the Persian slipper, and a book with a hidden pistol.

BARTHOLOMEW SHOLTO'S ATTIC

Bartholomew Sholto's room is located on the attic of one of the rooms at Pondicherry Lodge. It is not the character's bedroom, but rather his study; it contains numerous objects and chemistry tools, making it appear like a laboratory. Colored fumes emanate from beakers, filling the room, while strange dark liquids are spilled across the wooden floor.
