      UE5 Stylized Environment

For this project, I wanted to get out of my comfort zone and be able to configure an entire environment on Unreal 5. This represented quite a challenge, as I was used to making individual props.
Based on Andrew Porter's concept art and Leevï Galita's 3D environment
I chose this environment for its relatively simple set of props to break down and use to assemble the scene. Being more familiar with modeling and sculpting, I wanted a small scene with few different props so I could spend more time on my weak points.

I was able to improve my stylized textures on Painter with a color base made on Photoshop to then accentuate the hand-painted side of my props. And use Designer to create my sand and red wall material.

Lighting my scene was one of the most difficult part of this project, and it took a lot of work to achieve a balanced result. The other challenge was to configure Unreal for various effects such as moss, RVT (Runtime Virtual Texturing) to make a good transition from sand and stone. Or configuring sand falls and smoke to bring the atmosphere of the location to life.

With this project, I wanted to improve my Zbrush skills on the details of the props and try out 3D Coat for a better rendering of the hand-painted textures.

Based on the work of Alexander Tomashevskiy and Maryna Khvatova.

          - Stylized Ranger Knife -

It was the start of a new cycle, beginning with a project where I concentrated on pure modelling on a single props. Then I concentrated on my weaker points, such as the texture, as I went along.

This is a stylised forest ranger's knife, based on a concept by Frederik Jeppesen

Many thanks to Jacob Brown for his feedback and general advice.
