     UE5 Stylized Environment

The Valorant Art Style had been catching my eye for a while now and I was so happy when the school let me do a fanmade for my year 3 Milestone !

I manage to do this project in 3 weeks thanks to the great feedback of Romain Durand and Matthieu Laude

Tileable Materials

One of the things I enjoy the most about all my environment projects is the creation of tileable materials.
I like to do all my pattern sculpts on Zbrush to then paint them on Substance and Photoshop.

Finally, I can have fun in Unreal Engine setting up a simple VertexPaint Material to blend all my textures together to add some storytelling in my scene.

Modules and Foliage

These are my main baked assets painted in Substance Painter. With some simple Blueprint, I was able to animate them in engine to add some more life to the scene.

The Roof Tiles are baked assets I painted in Substance and the pipes are textured using the trimsheet hardsurface texture I made earlier in the process.

The Foliage is made from an Atlas I painted in Photoshop. For the roughness map, I re-used the albedo in greyscale changing some values with setting layers.

               - Deep Sea Creature -

Here is a one-week project I did at Artside last year. A Ruined King fan art of a sea beast, handpainted on 3DCoat and Photoshop.

The tentacles were a big challenge to sculpt but I learned a lot about simplifying the process and the retopology! Thanks to Matthieu Laude for his feedback during the week.

            - Quiet Dream Garden -

I have done multiple experimentations on Handpainted Textures with personal projects in the past.
This one is the first as a School Project during a Foliage exercise with the great Sacha Veyrier at Artside.

This project started as foliage initiation and I ended up having a lot of fun doing colorful little plants for a whole week!

The albedo was handpainted in Photoshop. I used Blender for the Cut-out and assembly and rendered them in Unreal Engine.

It also was my first time experimenting Designer 3D, using it to generate some lilypad layout from the atlas I painted.

                       - Sculptober -

Last year I decided to participate in the Sculptober challenge, helping me improve my sculpting skills on Zbush.

Here is a selection of speed sculpts I made during that time. I tried to stick to an hour sculpt session for each.
It helped me a lot to improve on efficiency and reference analysis.
Some concepts are from League of Legends and Overwatch games.

                 - Wayfinder Bell -

I wanted to try more specific PBR handpaint techniques on 3DCoat and Photoshop so I decided to try the Wayfinder Art Direction.

I struggled a lot specifically on the sculpt but thanks to the feedback of Florian Devos, Camille Delmeule, and Matthieu Laude during the project I managed to improve my result more and more!

3D Original Art by Alena Markelova for Dragonfly Studio

  - Darksider Genesis Fan Arts -

Little Note

I won't be able to hide it anymore, but the works of Airship Syndicate and especially the concepts of Baldi Konijn are huge inspirations to me. I can't count the number of personal projects from his concepts I still have to finish.
Working with him is definitively on my professional goal list (right next to "working on a Valorant Project").

I had fantastic weeks making Darksiders Genesis Fanarts in Handpaint and both projects were done under the great supervision of Matthieu Laude at Artside.

                     - Shield Demon -

This project was a 3-week exercise and the first full handpaint course we had texturing on Substance Painter.

                     - Cursed Chest -

This prop was a 1-week exercise following the Ruined King Shark project. I wanted to try another approach on the handpaint workflow in Photoshop.

                                           A bit of Realism

Though I have very stylized preferences in my works, I'm not closed to realism at all.
Adding the stylized rules of design in a realistic asset is always a lot of fun and challenge!

                          - Naginata -

An oriental Blade I made in one week at Artside under the great supervision of Sacha Veyrier.

The End

Thank you so much for your time! It means a lot to me.
I had a lot of fun making these projects for the past two years and I hope you had fun discovering them.
I've learned so much and I look forward to learn more in the industry!

Little thanks to my friends at school and on social media who helped me a lot and taught me so many wonderful little tips!

If you like my work you can find a bit more on my Artstation. I also like to post silly doodles and projects I'll never finish on Twitter (you can reach out to me on there too! always a pleasure to discuss with you all <3).
